§ 4-16. Highway Corridor Development District (HCDD).

  • The intent of the Highway Corridor Development District is to protect the public health, safety, and welfare by encouraging growth and economic development along the primary highway corridor within the county's development district. Specifically, this article is designed to:

    (1)

    Ensure the continued viability of Gloucester's primary corridor as an economic development tools.

    (2)

    Maintain the transportation safety of the corridor by managing access and visibility.

    (3)

    Ensure the long term transportation efficiency of the corridor, which carries high volumes of commuter, tourist, and shipping traffic.

    (4)

    Enhance the visual quality of the corridor, which, as a point of entry into Gloucester County, conveys lasting impressions to residents and tourists.
