§ 2-3. Procedure with respect to warrants for payment of money; payments by treasurer.

  • When money in the county treasury is appropriated or is set aside in the hands of the treasurer by the board of supervisors to enable the county administrator to pay, with his warrant, such claims against the county as the board of supervisors may authorize him by general resolution to pay, the county administrator shall, as soon as practicable, furnish the treasurer with a certified copy of such resolution appropriating or setting aside any such sums of money provided for in this section; and the board of supervisors may by resolution require the treasurer to pay all warrants drawn on the various or designated funds in the treasurer's hands drawn by the county administrator on such funds in a total monthly amount not to exceed that determined and fixed by the board of supervisors. The treasurer shall, before paying any funds upon any warrant authorized by this section or by any other provision of this Code or other ordinance, or by state law, first comply with section 58-921 of the Code of Virginia. The form of warrant for any payment from the county treasury shall be as provided by the board of supervisors.
