Article 11. OFF-STREET PARKING AND LOADING FACILITIES |
§ 11-12. Parking and loading space requirements.
Off-street parking spaces, loading spaces, and bicycle parking spaces shall be provided as follows. Where a development project consists of multiple uses, spaces shall be calculated and provided for each use listed below, provided that shopping centers consisting of a combination of department stores, discount stores, drug stores, retail stores, supermarkets, and similar uses shall provide one (1) parking space per two hundred fifty (250) square feet of floor area. Floor area shall mean gross floor area, measured from the exterior faces of exterior walls, or the center line of walls separating two (2) attached buildings. Where fractional spaces result, they shall be rounded up to the next highest whole number.
For uses in the Gloucester Courthouse village area, within a polygonal boundary defined on the north and south by lines running parallel to Main Street, each at a distance of nine hundred (900) feet from the center line of Main Street, on the east by a line running perpendicular to Main Street, crossing Main Street at its intersection with Smith Avenue (roughly two hundred thirty (230) feet east of Clements Ave.), and on the west by a line running perpendicular to Main Street, crossing Main Street at the western edge of the Court Circle:
Where any use, by virtue of physical limitations relating to the built-out nature of development in this area, cannot reasonably comply with the parking requirements listed herein, the administrator may modify or waive such requirements to the extent necessary.
